Bethesda is currently offering two divisions in it's baseball program. Similar to our basketball program, we have a Rec Division and an Open Division.
The Rec Division

2020 Fall 10U Rec Champions
The Rec Division will play under the Cal Ripken Baseball Rules. This Division is for all players, whether they are new to the game, still developing their skill sets, or for players looking to play in a less competitive division. They will continue to play with the USA Bats (2 5/8” or less) that were made standard in 2018. The 8u teams remain coach pitch, and 10u and up will be played as kid pitch. Teams will be formed using a draft process similar to previous seasons. All previous seasons of baseball have been played under these rules.
Leagues are based off player's current age as of May 1, 2021. We are following Cal Ripken League rules.
Tee Ball (ages 4-6) Registration fee: $115 includes Shirt, hat, pants, belt and socks
Farm (ages 7-8) Registration fee: $140 includes Shirt, hat, pants, belt and socks
Minor (9-10) Registration Fee: $140 includes Shirt, hat, pants, belt and socks
Majors (11-12) Registration fee: $150 includes Shirt, hat, pants, belt and socks
The Open Division
The Open Division is a new format designed to create more competitive games than the traditional Rec Division. Teams in the Open Division will play against similar teams from SWA, College Grove, and East Williamson Association (EWA). This division is for players who have been playing organized baseball for a few years with more advanced skills and have been asked to play on a team in the Open Division. Coaches may bring a full team to the Open Division.
The Open Teams will have a base schedule of 12-15 games, and an end of season tournament. Each Open Team will have the option to add more games than the base amount if they choose, as well as play in a few travel tournaments. If any games or tournaments are added, the expense of those games or tournaments will be the responsibility of the team members (parents) not the league. Players will be using USSSA big barrel bats (up to 2 ¾”) not the USA Bats that became standard for league play in 2018.
The Open Division will follow “Game 7” rules for Travel Baseball Associations (https://game7baseball.com/baseball/game-7-national-tournament-rules-2020), not the Cal Ripken Rules that the Rec Division will play under.
8U Open Division Registration Fee: $200 includes game jersey, practice shirt, hat, pants, belt and socks
10U Open Division Registration Fee: $200 includes game jersey, practice shirt, hat, pants, belt and socks
